American pancakes according to Magda Gessler

And it all began one winter evening, when I decided to use my subscription for cable TV a bit and jumping on the channels, I heard that Magda Gessler with her Revolution in Straszyn, which I pass several times a month.

The whole program revolved around hamburgers and… pancakes! I had to try them out.

I needed:
American pancakes pancakes pancakes according to Magda Gessler recipe
  • 3 cup flour
  • 2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 spoon of baking powder
  • 2 spoons of honey
  • 1 / 4 oil glasses
  • 3 cup buttermilk
  • 4 eggs (beaten)
  • optional vanilla extract.
Pour the flour, baking soda and baking powder into a bowl and mix.

I added honey, oil, buttermilk and beaten eggs in the meantime. The mass was not perfectly smooth and although apparently it does not have to be this way, I decided to use a mixer.
I left the obtained dough for the whole night (apparently enough 15 minutes, but the longer the better).
I fry the pancakes in a pan with literally a bit of butter. There is definitely too much of it in the photo, because I observed the rule - the less butter, the more golden, one-color pancake, which is what it must be like.
What to serve them with With syrups, for example maple, with whipped cream or jams.
Ja I served them with mascarpone cream, topped with hot raspberries.

Cream recipe for mascarpone cheese:
- 250 g of mascarpone cheese
- 100 ml of heavy cream 30%

Mix with a blender.

Recipe for raspberry topping:

American Pancakes Gessler Raspberry Topping

  • jar of raspberry
  • vanilla sugar or powdered sugar
  • kardamon
  • cinnamon.

Put into a pot and simmer for a few minutes.

Enjoy the taste.

They came out delicious, they turned out to be a perfect breakfast. The ideal portion per person is 1, maximum 2 pancakes. Fortunately, we took them to our friends and they turned out to be a perfect dessert, served with vanilla cheese and chocolate coating.

I made a taste

And to make the dough rise, keep it in the fridge overnight or at room temperature

If you don't want to waste your products, don't use this recipe!

I don't know what's going on, but it's the worst I've ever done in the kitchen and I've done a lot. The pancakes are going downhill, they are not easily knocked over, and without the sweet addition they are… unpalatable: / maybe I did something wrong but I would rather not approach them a second time.

A great recipe for Valentine's Day! I will make Valentine's pancakes for my wife :) I am a big fan of fatty food - as my wife says. Steak is the norm for me and I can only prepare it, but your recipe is so simple that I think I can make it 🙂

Pancakes, in my opinion, are brilliant in many different ways, it's a very universal dish. I like them for breakfast and sometimes as an extra dinner - for example with fruit or maple syrup. I make that simple myself sometimes http://www.open-youweb.com/jak-zrobic-nalesniki/ but it's worth introducing something new, so I'll try to get a good idea from this site. Thanks for the ideas.

I may surprise you, but American pancakes are a type of pancake that is fried in a dry pan (without the addition of fat). Melted butter is enriched with the finished dough. Thanks to this fried pancake has a golden color on the entire surface, on the outside it is slightly crunchy, and on the inside pleasantly soft;).
Greetings and congratulations on the birth of my son 🙂

To be sure I will ask if the cake put in the fridge overnight? or left at room temperature?

I made them from your recipe and they came out great. And I would add that it was my first time 😉 Soft, fluffy, slightly sweet. The only change was the use of plain yogurt instead of buttermilk (I didn't have it). I recommend the recipe!

🙂 I was amused by your description at the very beginning, namely the mention of Mrs. Magda and her revolutions in Strasza, because I was watching these revolutions online via the internet myself and I wanted to make these pancakes. Typing, your blog popped out (it's great) and pancakes came out beautifully for you. I wanted to make them for breakfast and I also wanted to prepare the cake today, but I do not have one ingredient, namely buttermilk. I wonder if you can do without it somehow?

Well, one thing is certain today will be pancakes with me 🙂

  • 24.01.2014

I already know what will be at breakfast tomorrow 🙂 I'm not talented at cooking, but I hope they'll be half as nice as yours 🙂
    Regards!

I also made breakfast recently, but I give melted butter to the dough and then fry it in the pan without any fat at all.

  • 14.01.2014

I've been frying them for about five years 😀

  • 12.01.2014

  • 10.01.2014

    They look delicious 🙂

  • 10.01.2014

I will do my man, he loves pancakes in any form.

  • 10.01.2014

Interesting :) I'll write down the recipe, maybe someday I'll try. I wonder if you can add butter directly to the dough and then fry without it. I do it with pancakes, only that I add oil to the dough. But thanks to this pancakes do not drip fat.

  • 10.01.2014

Oh, but you made me taste and I still had so many hours at work 🙂

  • 10.01.2014

    my daughters love these pancakes

It is true that I have recently developed my recipe for American pancakes using the "by eye" method and they turned out delicious, but I think that I will write down your recipe and try it one day, because it is different from mine. :)
