Children's room - mint | Metamorphosis

children's room clouds theme pastels

As I said before, room for a newborn baby I created primarily for my own convenience and organization. I organized there places suitable for care, feeding, sleeping, but with the next months new needs appeared such as storage of toys and the most important - a safe place to play together.

The first thing that came to our room was a standing lamp, which was to put us in the evening mood and mute us during the afternoon reading books. As I wrote to you here, it all began with her and she became the inspiration for all the changes in the room, because it was the basis for the theme and the leading colors of the room (you can see the moodboard here).

I matched the colors of the bedding and pouffes with the lamp, which I have always dreamed of and love. It made my armchair even more comfortable! On the armchair you can also see a blanket that we can cover - just in time for autumn evenings like now. I have painted the shelves for books, which are always at hand, mint to introduce more colorful elements to the room.

In order to organize a safe and comfortable place to play, I started by creating as much floor space as possible with direct proximity to a place to store toys. To this end, I decided to move the wardrobe to the window.

This time I wanted to go crazy with colors, and as I love to make changes in the interiors that surround me, I decided to decorate the walls with stickers - stickers that can be stuck on and unsticked many times without harming the wall and the sticker (at least several times). I will prepare a separate post for you about how to glue such a wall, because I admit that the topic, which was seemingly simple, turned out to be a bit troublesome, but here it came to my aid Fiollkaa and her valuable advice given under my photo on Instagram and everything went like a petal!

And here you can see how the crosses look on a larger surface:

And so we get closer to the heart of our room - our playground!

To emphasize its character and separate this space on the wall, I painted something like a house, which emphasizes this unique zone. I put a colorful rug on the floor - soft enough to sit on it for hours, hard enough that you can put blocks on it, perfect for hugging and fooling around with the three of us.

Undoubtedly, the metamorphosis was very successful

The mint color in the children's room really looks great! I guess I will tell my husband that he must take a vacation from next week to paint the kid's room 😉 Thanks for the inspiration!

Extremely cozy and graceful interior, and the playground - a revelation! Gray perfectly matches the mint.
It's great that you put information about the stores where you bought individual items. This data will be very useful to me. 🙂

Hello, the room is beautiful 🙂 but I have a question about the crib. Is it practical? My main point is the inability to remove the rungs. The side that can be purchased for an older child is very small and does not convince me to install it for a child who is 1,5 - 2 years old. Regards 🙂

And for it it is already extremely vivid and this is the maximum amount of color that I can absorb 🙂 but it's great that it's really colorful for you, something good for everyone 🙂

I have a question, what's in the Gulliver changing table? Is it a SKOTSAM care pad from ikea? Or something else? And where did you buy the changing pad cover and organizer? greetings

    • 04.02.2017

In the changing table there is such an inflatable pad from Ikea, I ordered the cover to size on DaWanda website, and the organizer is a gift from ZARA.

I steal the paint formula 😉 we'll see what they will say in the DIY store 😉 We're just moving in and the daughter (2,5roku) will finally have her own room. The theme of clouds will dominate here. I plan to give wallpaper on one wall gray with white clouds, Furniture will be white, but to liven up the room a bit, I thought about the mint wardrobe 😉 Maybe the bookshelves will also be mint. And a great idea for a bookbox 🙂 my daughter loves books and I would like her to have them at hand. Greetings! 🙂

Thank you very much and I am glad that you like the room, you are definitely looking forward to yours <3 be sure to post a photo of the final effect here in the comment - I'm dying of curiosity 🙂

Ms Agnieszka, I have a problem with paint, can you give me the color (its name / number / color code) because the Lord in castors told me that the formula is the result of the chosen color, so he is not able to create a color based on the formula.

    • 04.02.2017

Hmm… weird that. The Lord told me that I should write down this color and if I wanted to add some more, it would be enough to give this code.

In castorama they are able to reproduce the color based on the formula (BW 1,6 CW 1,3 GH 2,4) + information is needed for what capacity of the can it was prepared. There should also be a color code on the can, then no formula is needed. Can you tell me what was the capacity of the can for which the paint was prepared or the color code?

    • 08.03.2017

      I will try to find a can 🙂 but I remember I had two - a small and a large 😀

I am sure this room will be my inspiration in creating a cozy place for my kids 🙂 The problem is that I cannot find the golden mean - either I will do something too much or something will be missing. How do you find this balance when it comes to accessories (stickers, pictures, books on shelves, colors, etc.)? Maybe you have some golden advice? 🙂 Or maybe I gave an idea for another post? 🙂 Regards Basia

    • 04.02.2017

Basia, I can tell you that these clouds didn't hang in our place for too long, I just had the feeling that there was too much color for me and I couldn't fully relax in this room. In my opinion, one clear wall is enough and I always start with the "less" version and only with time, if I make sure that I am missing something, I buy more elements.

  • 16.12.2015

How beautiful! Very in my style - unfortunately I cannot afford to furnish my son's room as I would like, because unfortunately we have too small angles. It's a pity, because then I could go crazy ... 🙂

Cool! I like it very much, despite the fact that I like white, black and gray more - but the child's room should be colorful - I guess I will convince myself - I am facing such a challenge as designing my son's room :) please write what floor is this ?? Will it fit the wenge door? Best regards, Aneta

    • 15.12.2015

The floor is Parador panels, color with the word mix in the name, probably light oak mix somehow. Gray goes with everything 🙂 the question of whether the difference in the grain will not bother you.
And as you can see from our first room design and all other rooms in the house - we love white, gray and black, but after a long time we started to miss this colorful atmosphere in the Children's room.

  • 14.12.2015

Santa must be delighted with the playground 😉 I really like the cloud-based design elements! But I like the space MOST - in a bright room this is missing the most, unfortunately the area is not this one ... ;-)
